About Nagpur

Nagpur, the second capital of Maharashtra State, popularly known as the Orange City, is located on the eastern part of Maharashtra and is geographical center of India. It is at the latitude 21.070, longitude 79.070 and the height from the sea level is 312.41 m.The months of October-November are pleasent with temperatures between 280 - 150 C. It has a population of about 4 million and from ancient times is a center of education and culture. In the city we have Buddha monuments symbolising world peace and harmony in diversity. Its five star industrial areas at Butibori is perhaps the largest complex in Asia. Sevagram (Gandhigram) where Mahatma M. K. Gandhi lived till independence of India, Vinoba Bhave, the torch bearer of Sarvodaya Movement lived in Paunar and Ramtek where the Samskrit poet Kalidas wrote Meghdootam are important tourist spots in the vicinity of Nagpur. Being a virtual center of India (incidently India’s zero-mile stone is located in Nagpur) Nagpur city is well connected as well as well served by road, railways and air-flights to all the major metro cities of India viz. Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.
