1.      Project Handled:

Minor Project Completed: Completed UGC’s Minor Research Project on, “Sedimentological and Paleoalgalogical Studies of Quaternary Sediments of Diu Area, Saurashtra, Gujarat”, as Principal Investigator.

 

Major Projects Submitted: Proposal for the Major project on, “Paleolimnological  study  of  the major   lakes of  the Nagpur  District, Maharashtra using fossil diatoms, sediment dating, hydrochemistry and geochemistry: an approach to evaluate the trophic  status and paleoclimate,” is submitted on 3-08-2010 to DST/SERC for  consideration as Co-Investigator.

 

Research Collaborations: The Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee for the   collaborative work is likely to be signed mainly for the 210Pb and 137Cs  dating and discussion and implementation of the outcome of the project on Paleolimnological studies is likely to be completed very soon.

 15. Chaired Scientific Sessions/Delivered Keynote addresses and Memoral Lectures: Co-chaired the 3rd Technical Session on the 1st Day of National Conference on “Sedimentary Basins of India: Recent Developments” held at Hotel Pride from  22nd to 23rd October 2010.

  •  Underwent one month Mine Training in Underground Manganese Ore Mine at Kandri, Mansar (MOIL).

  •  Underwent a short training program in Techniques of Sedimentology at Department of Earth Sciences, Goa University under supervision of Dr. Kotha Mahendra, Professor in Geology.

  •  Completed Training in Remote Sensing and GIS fro Regional Remote Sensing Service Centre, ISRO, Amravati Road, Nagpur

  •  Ph.D. Supervisior and presently guiding three students for their doctoral degree on Paleolimnology and Paleoclimates.
