DR. Mohan S. Kashikar, MA., Ph.D., Reader and HOD, is working in the
department since 1986. He has won a gold
 |
medal in MA,
Political Science examination for securing first position in merit of
Nagpur University. He got a fellowship of ICSSR for his Ph.D and a
fellowship by the Rotary foundation as ambassador of goodwill. He
worked as a visiting fellow at the Institute of Conflict Analysis and
Resolution, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia (USA) during
August 1997 to June 1998.
His areas of interests are South Asian Studies, Indian Government and
Politics, International Relations, Ancient Indian Political Thought.
He has publications to his names which includes SAARC: Its Genesis,
Development and Prospects, Published by Himalaya publishing House,
Mumbai, 2000;
Concept of State in Selected Political ideologies; International
Relations: Theory Development and Conceptual Framework- text books in
Marathi written for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University,
Nasik, 2000 and 2004 respectively. He has been writing on the issues
of- Regional Cooperation and India’s Role; Economic Cooperation in the
context of SAARC. He has been writing regularly weekly column on
International affairs in a leading Marathi Newspaper of Nagpur, Tarun
Bharat during the period 1991-93. He has also worked as Unit
coordinator and editor of the Nagpur center on a project to compile
Encyclopedia of Hinduism undertaken by University of North Carolina
and India Heritage Research Foundation (USA) during 1999-2001.
