Dr. Kishor R. Mahabal, MA.,M.Phil., LLB, Ph.D., is a Reader in the department and has a teaching

 experience of 20 years in the Undergraduate level and 10 years in the post graduate levels. He has been recognized as a Ph.D guide and with four students currently working under him.

His areas of specialization are- Indian Political Thought, Indian Government and Politics and Western Political Theory and his area of special interests are Political Science in general, History, Education, Sociology, Marathi and Sanskrit Literature, Feminist movement, Environmental movement, and other social and political movements and Law.
He is a constant invitee as a resource person and faculty in various Orientation and refresher courses, seminars, workshops, training programmes, other academic institutions, clubs and NGOs. He has published more than 150 articles in various dailies, magazines and journals and had been writing regularly for at least three columns in a daily newspaper Tarun Bharat.


He himself has been organizing various activities through various forums such as NGOs, Colleges, Study Circles including the activities like quiz competition, personality development programmes, debates, elocution competition, workshops on problem solving, creativity, study skills, goal setting etc, seminars, orientation course and various other activities. He has also been conducting extension activities of the Nagpur University, which includes activities of literacy programme, legal aid, population study programme etc.

He has been organizing educational tours every year to the Supreme Court for the final year law students apart from tours to Sevagram, Anandvan, with participants of various colleges and department students etc.
