Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Programme Study Center (1660P) has been inaugurated at Department of Food Technology of LIT on Tuesday, April 13th, 2010 at the hands of Dr. S.N. Pathan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Dr.M.K. Salooja, Director, School of Agriculture, IGNOU, New Delhi. Two new diploma courses namely “Diploma Programme in Production of Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables” and “Post-Graduate Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Management”. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor appreciated initiative taken by LIT faculty to start such innovative & rural based technology curriculum for the benefits of rural youth of Vidarbha. He also distributed certificates of excellence to LIT students who excelled in various co-curricular activities.
